Piano 56 Vol. 2

“Piano 56 Volume 2” (P56-V2) is actually our third course (following “Piano 56" and “Piano 56 Foundations”). Right out of the gate we look at eighth notes and eighth rests. Throughout the entire program we explore new rhythms that we can create with eighth notes and eighth rests.
You will learn all of the notes on the grand staff throughout P56-V2, with four of them introduced in the first week. The first day of each week begins with a warm-up that will help refine your rhythm, technique and increase your finger control and speed.
In weeks two and three, you will learn about whole steps and half steps, major and minor 3rds, how to create any major chord, and I, IV, V and V7 broken and blocked chords. You’ll also learn the c major scale and how to articulate staccato and legato.
Week four introduces the g pentascale, mezzo piano, the sustain pedal and measure markers. Week five presents a variety of exercises to refine your rhythm and technique. In weeks six and seven, you will learn about pedal breaks, expression markings, the octave sign, a tempo, accents, fermata, and 1st and 2nd endings.
Week eight is the final week of the program (days 50-56), and each day is dedicated to reviewing a prior week. For instance, you will review the concepts from week one on day 50, review week two on day 51, week three on day 52, etc… By day 56, you will be playing and expressing music beautifully, and you will be amazed how much you have developed as a musician and as a pianist.
